Introducing The Crafted Camper: Tampa Bay's First Custom Embroidery Studio on Wheels

There’s a new creative camper rolling into Tampa Bay — and she’s bringing Tampa Bay custom embroidery (plus laser engraving and handmade magic) straight to your favorite places.


A Bit of Backstory

After more than a decade in corporate America, I finally decided to turn my love of crafting and creativity into something tangible — and mobile. I wanted a space that could travel, create, and connect with people face-to-face. That dream became The Crafted Camper, a renovated camper turned creative studio on wheels offering custom embroidery in Tampa Bay and beyond.



What’s Inside The Crafted Camper

At the heart of The Crafted Camper is my 16-needle Melco Summit embroidery machine, the powerhouse that makes my on-the-go embroidery dreams possible. With it, I can create high-quality custom hats, patches, apparel, and gifts right on the spot.


When you stop by The Crafted Camper, you’ll find:

  • On-site embroidery demos and ready-to-sell embroidered pieces

  • Laser-engraved items such as wall decor, man cave signs, leather patches, home decor, and keychains

  • Pre-made embroidered and engraved gifts you can grab and go

  • Custom order opportunities for personalized embroidery and engraved creations

While I’ll have plenty of pre-made items on display, anything personalized can be ordered right from the camper for you to pick up at my next stop or I can deliver to you.



My Mission for The Crafted Camper

My goal is to bring my creativity to YOU. I’ll be setting up at local businesses, sporting events, markets, festivals, and private events where visitors can see the embroidery process up close, shop handmade goods, and even place custom orders on the spot.


More than that, I want The Crafted Camper to be a space that inspires creativity and community. The way I see it, is that it’s a way to share my love for handmade art while supporting other makers and small businesses across the area.



Why I Chose the Melco Summit Embroidery Machine to Bring Custom Embroidery to Tampa Bay

For those curious about the behind-the-scenes magic, the Melco Summit embroidery machine is the star of the show. It’s compact enough to travel but powerful enough to produce professional-grade embroidery, making it perfect for a mobile setup like mine.


With it, I can:

Laser Engraving and Custom Creations

Alongside embroidery, I’ll also feature a rotating collection of laser-engraved décor and gifts, with the help of my OMTech laser engraving machine (this guy is too big to bring on the road, so he lives in the garage). You’ll find engraved leather patches, wooden signs, acrylic pieces, and more. Non-personalized pieces will be available for purchase right away, while custom orders can be placed directly with me during your visit.

If you’ve ever dreamed about starting a creative business — especially a mobile one — here’s what I’ve learned on the road so far:

  1. Start before you’re ready. You're never 100% ready to make the leap. You just have to do it!

  2. Invest in your tools. Choose quality equipment (like the Melco or the OMTech) that will grow with you.

  3. Leverage local SEO. Add your location and services (“custom embroidery Tampa Bay”) everywhere you can. I'm talking about your website, listings, social posts, and blog posts.

  4. Share your journey online. People love seeing the behind-the-scenes process, even the messy parts. I shared the not so fun part of demolishing the camper I purchased on Facebook to rebuild it... and I'm still so happy I have that to look back on today.

  5. Say yes to opportunities. Every pop-up or event is a chance to grow your community and your confidence.
